• Apply a low pressure jet of compressed air to the oil-
way (E) in which the brake fluid union was fitted in or-
der to cause the two plungers to be ejected from their
seats in the two halves of the calliper; now undo and
remove screws (V2).
• Separate the two calliper halves, ensuring that the two
plungers (F) and gasket (G) do not fall.
• Remove wiper seal (H) and oil seal (L) in both calliper
halves, taking care not to damage the relative grooves.
• Check that the plungers and their seats are undam-
aged.
Always fit new wiper seals and new oil seals.
Refit the plungers, the O-rings, the retaining
rings, and the wiper seals, lubricating the parts
with brake fluid.
NOTE After working on the braking system, make
sure that:
• the brake fluid lines are not damaged,
crushed, or twisted;
• the disc and pads are not contaminated
with oil or grease;
• all screws and unions are fully tightened;
• there are no leaks from any of the unions.
