FRONT STANCHION
RIGHT
• (Remove mudguard).
• (Remove wheel).
LEFT
• (Remove mudguard).
• (Remove wheel).
• (Remove brake calliper).
• (Remove odometer pick-up).
Before proceeding with the disassembly
operation, prop up the centre of the frame
to prevent the scooter falling.
To proceed with the operation, position the
brake calliper and brake line BEHIND the
scooter frame.
• Remove circlip (A).
• Undo screws (V2).
• Remove stanchion tube (B) downwards by pulling and
twisting.
To overhaul the hydraulic unit proceed as follows:
• unscrew plug (C) and then turn the shock absorber
upside down and drain the oil contents into a 1 litre
container;
• undo screw (V) and remove stanchion (D) from slider (E).
NOTE
When reassembling renew copper washer
under screw (V).
• remove wiper seal (F), retaining ring (G) and oil seal (H).
There is an O-ring (C1) located on cap (B);
renew the O-ring if necessary.
The stanchion contains oil. Do not turn it
upside down or tilt it excessively during the
removal procedure or when removing its
internal components.
Hydraulic fluid is corrosive and can cause
serious personal injury.
NOTE
The sequence of operations for disassem-
bling the stanchion can be identified clearly
in the replacement parts exploded view.
