Put the charged drive battery into the model
Undo the two cotter pins for the rechargea-
ble battery mounting device and take off the
cover
Put the rechargeable drive battery into the
battery holder on the longitudinal edge.
Put some foam rubber into the battery tray to
make the rechargeable battery fit snugly.
Replace the cover and re-secure it with the
cotter pins.
Make a visual check of the model
Are the wheel lugs and screw connections
tightened snugly?
Is the servo control lever attached snugly on
the servo shaft?
Is the rechargeable drive battery charged and fixed in the mounting device?
Do the rotating and moveable parts moved smoothly?
Are the cables installed and secured such that they cannot get into the moving parts?
Are the threaded rings for the spring preload adjusted the same on both sides of an axle?
Check the range of the remote-control transmitter
and of the control functions.
CAUTION!
Never operate the model with a remote control unit operating in a faulty manner.
Range of the remote-control transmitter
To maintain secure control over the model, before each start and especially after a crash, you should check the
functioning and range of the RC system. Testing the functioning of the steering servo will suffice to do so.
If the remote-control system should not work acceptably, check the charging level of the rechargeable batteries
for the transmitter and receiver and refresh the link between the transmitter and receiver..
Prop up the model such that the wheels are suspended freely in the air. Due to the static friction of the tyres
on the ground, the steering would react too slowly if not suspended.
Go about 50 m away from the propped up model.
Test the steering function as described below:
Control function of steering
Put the steering wheel and the respective trimming in the neutral position.
Switch on the transmitter.
Connect the rechargeable battery to the electronic speed controller and switch on the receiver.
Turn the steering wheel to the left and the right. The wheels of the model should also turn to the left and the
right. If the wheels turn in the opposite direction, put the reverse switch for the steering function on the trans-
mitter in the other position.
When you release the steering wheel, the wheels should turn back into the straight-ahead position.
If the wheels are not exactly straight in the zero position of the steering wheel, correct the position on the trim
control for the steering function (channel 1).
The end stops of the steering wheel should actuate the end stops to the right/left of the steering!
