Removing and installing, repairing oil pump

Fit on the cover.
Tighten the mounting bolts with the prescribed
torque.
Grind or exchange heavily worn covers.

Position dial gauge and push shaft up to the stop
in one direction and set dial gauge to ”0”.
Push the shaft in the opposite direction and read
off the needle deflection on the dial gauge.
Installing oil pump

Tighten the mounting bolts with the prescribed
torque.

run smoothly and then fit it / them free of ten-
sion

Before fitting the oil pan, run the engine to check
that the crankshaft drive and oil pumps are running
smoothly and easily.

Fit an oil pan seal.
Fit oil pan to crankcase and screw in the mounting
bolts.
Tighten the mounting bolts with the prescribed
torque.
