TOW OR COUPLE
Telehandler
t
IMPORTANT
t
Towing must be done at very low speeds for short distances.
- Position the gear selector in neutral position.
- Deactivate the parking brake.
- Turn on the emergency lights.
- Manually shift the travel inverter into neutral.
- Activate the bypass function of the hydrostatic pump to allow at the hydraulic oil to flow freely.
To activate the bypass function:
a) Switch off the engine.
b) Use an Allen key (WAF 8) to turn the
shuttle valve (1) counter-clockwise
to stop (2).
The bypass function is now active.
- Immediately following towing, switch
off the bypass function.
To deactivate the bypass function:
c) Use an Allen key (WAF 8) to turn
the shuttle valve (1) clockwise to the
stop and
tighten with a 50 Nm tightening
torque.
The bypass function is no longer active.
- Release the negative brake on front axle:
a) Loosen nuts (2) of screws (3) provided for
the mechanical and manual release of the
braking units, then move the nuts backward
by approximately 8 mm (0.3 in).
b) Tighten screws (3) to fasten them onto the
pressure plate
c) Using a wrench, tighten the screws (3) in an
alternate sequence by 1/4 turn at a time so as to compress the belleville washers and disengage the braking disks.
t
IMPORTANT
t
Tighten maximum by one turn.
- Adjust the negative brake on front axle:
d) Remove screws complete with nuts and seals.
Replace seals, apply silicone-based Tecno Lube
/101 grease to the screws and install all parts
into the boom.
e) Adjust screws (3) to obtain a distance of 34mm
(1.3 in)
f) Lock into position with nuts (2).
t
WARNING
t
Hold screws (3) into position while locking the nuts (2); after locking, check the distance of screws (3)
once more.
t
WARNING
t
The opposite screws must be tightened to the same extent.
- If the steering and brake hydraulic power assist is not operating, operate on these two
controls slowly and with force.
Avoid sudden movements and jolts.
