INSTRUCTION MANUAL
Read and observe all of the following safety precautions before you use your battery charger in order to
prevent injury to the user or damage to the appliance.
Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference, and include it with the charger if you wish to pass
the charger on to another person.
Intended use
The charger is intended solely for short-term and trickle charging on open lead-acid batteries and a variety of
sealed, maintenance-free lead acid batteries with a nominal voltage of 6 volts or 12 volts and a capacity of 1.2 to
120 Ah as commonly installed in vehicles. Suitable batteries include:

Lead-acid batteries (WET)

Gel batteries (gel-like electrolyte)
−
AGM batteries (electrolyte absorbed in glass mat)
−
Maintenance-free lead acid batteries (MF)
This charger must not be used on other rechargeable battery types such as NiCd, NiMH or Li-ion, or on non-
rechargeable batteries.
The charger may not be used as a starter aid. First charge the battery of your vehicle fully and remove the charger
before starting the vehicle.
The charger may not be used as a source of direct current or for other purposes.
The battery charger is designed for use in dry and protected environments at temperatures of -5 °C to +40°C.
This device is not designed to be used by children and people with limited mental capacities or those without
experience and/or knowledge. Keep children away from the device.
This charger is not intended for commercial use!

Safety precautions

Use your battery charger indoors only.
•
Keep children and onlookers away from your working area.
•
Do not use your charger in damp or wet surroundings.
•
Make sure that you have sufficient light.
•
Do not expose your battery charger to direct sunlight, rainfall or snow.
•
Do not use your charger near explosive liquids or vapours.
•
Wear eye protection and acid-resistant gloves.
•
Keep your charger in a dry, safe place out of children’s reach.
•
Do not use the cable to carry your charger or unplug it from the mains. Keep the cable protected from heat, oil,
and sharp edges.
•
Make sure that your charger and all of its cables are in perfect condition before use.
•
Have any damaged cables replaced at an authorised repair shop.
•
Do not attempt to perform any repairs yourself.
•
Always unplug the charger from the mains if you do not intend to use it.
