WASH-1 USER GUIDE
DRAIN PROCEDURE
Wear solvent-rated gloves and eye protection when performing any of these procedures.
WATER DRAIN
The upper valve on the rear face of the Wash-1 is the water drain. Under normal circumstances, in normal
humidity, it should be drained daily.
1.
Position solvent-rated catch container beneath drain. Open the valve marked WATER DRAIN.
2.
A mix of water and solvent will slowly drain out. When the flow stops, close the valve.
3.
Dispose of the water/solvent mix according to local regulations.
This mix contains Opteon SF79
solvent and cannot be poured down the drain.
SOLVENT DRAIN
The Wash-1 debinding station must be periodically drained of solvent and refilled. When the Wash-1 is low on
solvent, it can be topped off. However, if HTC OVER LIMIT error messages appear on the dashboard and are
not
attributable to low solvent level, the boil chamber should be drained of solvent and refilled.
When the boil chamber is drained,
the heating elements should be turned off
, but the solvent must still be
warm. Otherwise, the dissolved wax will harden and will not drain properly.
1.
Warm the solvent, then turn off the Wash-1 heating elements by toggling the
Heater
switch on the
dashboard to the
Off
position. Never unplug the unit.
2.
Position a large solvent-rated container beneath the leftmost spout on the rear panel of the Wash-1,
marked BOIL DRAIN.
3.
Open the BOIL DRAIN valve and fully drain the boil chamber, then close the valve.
4.
Dispose of used solvent according to local regulations.
Do not pour down the drain.
At this point, you should refill the boil chamber following the instructions in the
Loading Solvent
section above,
then use the onscreen
Heater
toggle to turn on the Wash-1 heating elements.
WATER SEPARATOR DRAIN
You do not need to drain the water separator at all unless fully draining the Wash-1 of fluid. In that case, follow
steps 1-3 in the
Water Drain
subsection, above, for the WATER SEPARATOR drain.
