the signature plate holder.  If this alignment is not possible, please refer to the INSTALLATION
section of this manual for positioning of the signature plate holder.  Lock the tractor slides by
pushing the locking lever on each tractor away from you.  The paper should be snug between
the tractors, but not taut or slack.  Use the JOG keys to align the signature line on the first
document with the arrow on the right tractor.

9.

“Depress RUN Key to Activate!” -

When the paper is placed so the documents can unfold

squarely, press RUN.

ø

Hint:  The Model 911 runs more smoothly when the paper is fed

from a lower surface.

10.

“Batch Count _ _ , Any Key to Stop!” -

The Model 911 will imprint documents and keep a

running batch total until the STOP key  (or any other key) is pressed, the paper is depleted,
or the preset quantity has been imprinted (Count DOWN mode only).  If the Model 911 is
paused by a keystroke, it will remain on “HOLD” until you press “RUN” to continue, or press
“UNDO” to terminate the run.  After a few documents have been signed, you may wish to
pause the Model 911 to verify the signature alignment and to ensure that the paper is restacking
correctly.

ø

Hint:  The paper will restack more easily if it is allowed to fall 1-2 feet after

exiting the Model 911.

During a pause, while the display is flashing “HOLD”, signature

alignment can be adjusted vertically by the JOG keys.  Each JOG step is approximately 1/16”.
For example:  if the signature is 1/8” too high, tap on the JOG FORWARD key two times.  To
continue the imprinting process, press RUN.

11.

“Final Batch _ _, Press any Key” -

At the end of the run, the display will show the final batch

quantity.  After any key is pressed, the display will show the “Final Audit” quantity (total of all
batches).  Another keystroke brings back the initial operation prompt “Enter Executive Code”.

¤

After each run, or if an incorrect setup is attempted, the Model 911 reverts back to the
security mode and displays “Enter Executive Code”.

Operation With a Model 968 Burster

A Model 911 Signer and a Model 968 Burster can be connected by a cable to form an automatic sys-
tem for signing and bursting continuous forms, with or without margin trimming.  The Model 981
Stand, with a two-section top shelf and a paper loop tensioner, is designed specifically for this system.

7.2.1 Models 911/968 System Installation

1.

Load the forms into the Model 911 Signer.  Run the signer until a 4 foot length of continuous
forms has been signed and press PAUSE.  The signer will pause and display “HOLD”.

2.

Feed the forms under the tension bar on the stand and load the leading edge into the Model 968
Burster.  The burster will alternately display “System From Size: _ _” and “Load Paper, RUN
Key to Start”.  The size displayed should be the desired burst length.

¤

If the sensor on the tractor can see the paper, the burster will display only
“Sys  Form: _ _, RUN Key to Start”.

3.

On the Burster, press RUN.  The Burster will auto-load as usual and, as the bursting begins, the

signer will automatically run.  To pause the system, press PAUSE on either machine.  Both
machines will display “HOLD”.  To continue bursting, press RUN on either machine.  Both
machines will run and display as usual.  See caution note below.
