Network Synchronization
At the top of the Network Synchronization window is a drop down box that lets you set up the
Maxedia to be a Master, a Slave or a Stand Alone machine. If Master is selected the Master Mode
drop down box will allow you to select Full Master, Content Master, or Cue Master. A Full Master
Maxedia will send both cue information and media files to the Slave Maxedia(s) that have been
assigned to it. A Content Master will only update media files to slaves that have been assigned to it
and a Cue Master will only update it's Slaves with cue information. As the name implies, a Maxedia
set as a Stand Alone machine will not participate in the data sharing on the network.
Auto Discovery?
When Networking has been established the Master Maxedia can be set to update it's Slaves. In the
Cue Page Data section the top button toggles between Auto (Red) and Manual (Blue). When this
button is set to Auto, any changes that you make to the Cue Pages (adding cues, moving cues,
deleting cues, editing cues...) on the Master will automatically be made on the Slaves as well.
Because this feature only updates CHANGES as they are made, to ensure that all slaves have ALL
the same cues as the Master you should start with all cues synced. The Merge button will send all
cues that are on the Master to all Slaves. Any cues that existed on the Slaves in positions where
there was no cue on the Master will remain on the Slaves. The Replace button will copy all cues from
the Master to the Slaves and delete any cues on the Slaves that do not exist on the Master. The
Merge 1 to 1 button allows you to select a range of cue pages on the Master to merge only the cues
on those pages to the slaves. Similarly, in the Media Data section, you can Merge all media files
from the Master to the Slaves, leaving any additional files that may exist on the Slaves in place, or
you can Replace media files which will merge the media files from the Master and delete any media
