6.5 System
Setup
The “Setup” menu item enables you to set your maxium in accordance with your personal require-
ments. You can select among the following setting options:
•
Interactive language: Selecting the language in which the text messages and preset program
names will be displayed. In the standard version, you can select among German, English,
French, Italian and Spanish. Other languages are available on request.
•
Sound settings: Setting the volume of the current activation and alarm tones. In addition you
can define whether or not the activation sound should be modulated in accordance with tissue
impedance. This is the so-called “Audio Feedback“ mode that can be enabled or disabled.
•
Display settings: Setting display brightness and the view angle.
•
Timeouts: Setting the time characteristics of the menu interface (time period that must elapse
before the system automatically closes a submenu and returns to the working surface or main
menu); also, time interval to elapse before the red frame (or activation indicator) disappears.
•
Neutral electrode: Selecting the types of neutral electrodes permitted (exclusion of a single-
surfaced NE or the baby NE); enabling/disabling the neutral-electrode indicator (“slide”).
•
Automatic mode: Setting the parameters for the bipolar coagulation auto-function:
Setting the “Bipo start delay”,
i.e. the time period elapsing until the current is automatically acti-
vated after the active electrode makes contact with the tissue.
Settings for the monopolar coagulation degree (“Mono coag degree").
•
Argon mode: Settings for argon-supported operation with the maxium Beamer, or selection of
another Beamer system (e.g. Argon Beamer MB 181). A maxium Beamer connected to the
maxium is automatically recognized and selected by the latter.
•
Hotline: Information on the Martin hotline.
•
Service: Menu for Technical Service. Access only by special code.
