7 Current Types and Their Properties

Monopolar Cutting Currents
Pure Cut
Process-controlled current with a low eschar content. As the cutting edges are coagulated only
slightly, the hemostatic effect is low as well. Thus, the result is a so-called “pure cut” that comes
closest to the classic scalpel cut and supports fast wound healing.
Blend Cut
Cutting mode designed for generating a cut with “medium hemostasis” – the precisely controlled
current enables efficient use of high-frequency surgery in the operating room. The cut can be re-
produced anytime.
Super Blend
The higher the coagulation content of the cutting current (symbolized by the dotted line(s) of the
“Blend Cut” and “Super Blend” currents), the higher the degree of eschar formation in the cutting
canal will be. This results in a distinct hemostatic effect during tissue dissection.
Uro Cut Pure
When cutting under an irrigation liquid, the ambient conditions are very different from those of an
air or CO
2
environment. “Uro Cut Pure” takes account of this, providing a pure cutting current for
use in urology, especially in TUR-P and TUR-B applications.
