10.6 maxium Beamer Configuration and Operation
10.6.1
Turning on the maxium Beamer
Switching on the maxium automatically switches on the maxium Beamer as well. Subsequently,
both units will perform an automatic self-test (indicated on the maxium Beamer by an LED coming
on).
If you selected a program that does not include a Beamer-supported current, the Beamer LED will
subsequently go out and no cylinder symbol (indicating filling level) will be displayed on the max-
ium’s screen in this case.
Following completion of the self-test, the maxium Beamer is ready for use, as indicated by a green
LED lighting up. To select an argon-gas-supported cutting or coagulation current, proceed in ac-
cordance with the instructions given in section 6, “Operating the Unit". As soon as you have se-
lected such a current, a flow-rate field will be displayed in addition underneath the name of the cur-
rent.
Depending on the selected operating mode, maxium Beamer operation (gas flow) is indicated by a
blue or yellow LED coming on (blue = argon-supported coagulating, yellow = argon-supported cut-
ting).
The gas cylinder symbol displayed gives you rough information on the current filling level. If the
valve is closed or the gas used up, a red indicator will light up on the maxium Beamer, signaling
that gas flow activation is no longer possible. In addition, the information “Argon Beamer warning:
argon input pressure too low” is displayed in the Context line.
