Recommended setup procedure
See Figure 6. When the configuration file loads, the
Setup
window opens. If any LC Plus or upgraded LC
panels are connected to the P3-100, it auto-detects them, retrieves data from them, and lists each panel’s
display address, type and serial number under
Discovered Devices
(arrowed) on the lower left of the
Setup
window. Note that detected panels may have identical display addresses, depending on where panels were
last used. We recommend that you ignore this problem for the moment – it can be fixed later in the setup
procedure.
If panels have been detected, there is nothing to stop you positioning them in the video frame and configuring
them immediately, but if you are not familiar with the P3-100 we recommend you follow the two-stage
procedure below, in which you first set up an on-screen ‘virtual installation’ and then map detected panels to
that installation.
Working offline
You can set up complete configurations and save presets and configuration files offline (i.e. with no panels
are connected to the P3-100) to familiarize the system or to prepare a video display in advance of an event,
for example. You will need to follow the two-stage approach described below if you want to configure an
installation offline.
