Troubleshooting
If, after the installation there is an abnormally high wear and tear on
the cleaner blade and/or the cleaning efficiency is too low, check the
following points:
NOTE
The product is exposed to highly different types of bulk materials
and is often deployed in extreme working and environmental con-
ditions. Therefore faults other than those listed here may occur.
In this case, Martin Engineering or one of its representatives can
help with the positioning or with customized solutions. Only use
the conveyor system after the fault has been found and repaired.
Symptom
Cause
Corrective action
High wear and tear on
the cleaner blade.
The cleaner is fitted too
tightly on the conveyor belt.
Decrease the tension. Please refer
to the respective installation
manual of the tensioner for the
values of tension.
Scraper is installed in the
material flow.
Install primary cleaner in another
position.
Inadequate cleaning
efficiency or material
accumulation.
The cleaner is fixed either
too loosely or too tightly on
the conveyor belt.
Increase or decrease the tension
accordingly.
The cleaner blades are
worn out.
Check the cleaner blades and
replace them where necessary.
(See “Weekly maintenance”).
The cleaner is installed too
high on the head pulley and
obstructs the material flow.
Install it in a lower position.
Damage or unusual
wear pattern on the
cleaner blade.
Damaged conveyor belt or
joints.
Check the conveyor belt joint(s)
and repair or replace if necessary.
Scraper is installed in the
material flow.
Install primary cleaner in another
position.
Different tension values of
the tensioner.
Check tension specifications and
retighten if necessary.
