Replacing a damaged wire on mouse cable
Unplug the power cord before performing this procedure.
1. Unbolt the six small screws on the front panel and pull out the
panel. See Figure C-1.
2. Unscrew the two screws holding the male end of the mouse
cable to the panel and remove the cable.
3. Remove the black protective covering from the wires on the
male end of the cable.
4. Using the special tool, remove the colored wire male plugs
from the black plastic.
5. If necessary, unsolder the unshielded ground wire.
6. Cut off the cable to remove the damaged break in the wires.
7. Put ends on the colored wires.
8. Put the colored wire plugs on the switch per Figure C-7 below.
9. If needed, re-solder the ground wire to the silvered metallic end
of the connector.
10. Put the black shrink-wrap cover back on or use electrical tape.
11. Reattach the connector to the panel.
12. Put the panel back in place and reattach the six screws.
