Prior to using this Cable, the user should read and understand the Operator’s Manual for the Device,
this Directions for Use and the Directions for Use for the Sensor.
INDICATIONS
The LNOP® MP Series Patient Cables and Masimo Sensors are indicated for continuous noninvasive monitoring of functional
oxygen saturation of arterial hemoglobin (SpO
2
) and pulse rate (measured by a SpO
2
sensor) for use with adult, pediatric,
infant, and neonatal patients in hospitals, hospital-type facilities, mobile, and home environments.
DESCRIPTION
The LNOP MP Series patient cables are for use on Philips modules with Masimo SET® Technology and devices with Philips
FAST-SpO2Technology.
On Philips modules with Masimo SET Technology, LNOP MP Patient Cables are for use with LNOP sensors.
On devices with Philips FAST-SpO
2
Technology, LNOP MP Patient Cables are for use with LNOP sensors. Masimo SET Technology
is not available on devices with Philips FAST-SpO
2
Technology.
WARNING:
Masimo sensors and cables are designed for use with devices containing Masimo SET® oximetry or licensed to
use Masimo sensors.
WARNINGS, CAUTIONS, AND NOTES
• Always refer to the oximeter module operator’s manual for complete instructions or additional instructions.
• Ensure the cable is physically intact, with no broken or frayed wires or damaged parts. Visually inspect the cable and
discard if cracks or discoloration are found.
• All sensors and cables are designed for use with specific monitors. Verify the compatibility of the monitor, cable and
sensor before use, otherwise degraded performance and/or patient injury can result.
• Carefully route patient cable to reduce the possibility of patient entanglement or strangulation.
• Failure to properly connect the sensor or the oximeter module to the cable will result in intermittent readings, inaccurate
results, or no reading.
• To avoid damage to the cable, always hold it by the connector rather than the cable when connecting or disconnecting
either end.
• To prevent damage, do not soak or immerse the sensor or cable in any liquid solution. Do not attempt to sterilize the
cable or sensor.
• Do not attempt to reprocess, recondition or recycle Masimo patient cables as these processes may damage the electrical
components, potentially leading to patient harm.
• Refer to the specific sensor’s
Directions for Use
for detailed sensor instructions and warnings.
• Probes and cables are designed for use with specific monitors. The user and/or operator needs to verify the compatibility
of the monitor, probe, and cable before use, otherwise patient injury can result.
• Caution:
Replace the cable when a replace cable or equivalent message is displayed consistently. Consult monitoring
device operator’s manual for more information.
• Note:
The cable is provided with X-Cal® technology to minimize the risk of inaccurate readings and unanticipated
loss of patient monitoring. The cable will provide up to 17,520 hours of patient monitoring time when connected to a
monitoring device that supports X-Cal technology. Replace the cable when the patient monitoring time is exhausted.
Some legacy monitoring devices do not distinguish between the cable and the sensor. In these devices, a replace sensor
or similar message could pertain either to the sensor or the cable.
INSTRUCTIONS
Attaching LNOP MP Patient Cables to the Instrument
Refer to Figures 1a and 1b. Orient the connector of the cable to mate with the patient cable connector on the SpO
2
Module (
Fig. 1a
) or the MMS (
Fig. 1b
).
CAUTION: ENSURE YOU ARE CONNECTING AN LNOP MP PATIENT CABLE TO EITHER A MASIMO SET OR PHILIPS
FAST SPO
2
SOCKET. THERE ARE A NUMBER OF SIMILAR CONNECTORS WITH DIFFERENT COLORS AND
DIFFERENT MECHANICAL KEYING. NEVER FORCE A PATIENT CABLE CONNECTOR INTO THE MODULE OR
MMS. FAILURE TO USE AN LNOP MP PATIENT CABLE MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE MODULE OR MMS,
INACCURATE READINGS, OR NO READINGS.
Note:
There is a difference in color shade between the LNOP MP Patient Cable and the Philips MMS/SpO
2
Module
receptacle. However, this is an acceptable configuration. Masimo SET performance is not available when
connected to an instrument with Philips FAST SpO
2
Technology.
