General terms and conditions

Maskatel offers telecommunications services that you’ve agreed 

to use in exchange for a monthly payment.

The PHONE service includes 9 options that are included at no 

additional cost:

•  Voicemail

•  Call waiting

•  Visual call waiting

•  Call forwarding

•  Three-way calling

•  Caller ID (name and number)

•  Speed dial

•  *60 / *66 / *69 services

•  Custom calling

Additionally, the PHONE service in combination with at least one 

other service (Internet and/or television), allows you to make 

unlimited long-distance calls to anywhere in Canada and the 

United States (except Alaska and Hawaii).

Please note that overseas calls, as well as “1 976” and “collect” 

calls will only be activated upon request. You must fulfill a list of 

conditions and a deposit may be required.

When you use the 411 service, you will be charged $0.75 for every 

call.

You can also add one telephone number per subscription to the 

local directory for free. If you want to add additional numbers to 

the directory, a $31.20 fee will be incurred, which will show up as 

a $2.60 additional fee on your monthly bill.

The speed of your INTERNET connection varies according to the 

package you’ve chosen. This package appears on your bill. Verify 

with one of our agents in order to confirm your monthly data cap. 

The modem is provided for free during your entire membership 

period.

Email addresses and data storage are included in your package. 

You can access your email from anywhere in the world as long as 

you have access to the Internet and a browser.

There are numerous combinations available for DIGITAL 

TELEVISION. Your TV package is described on your bill.

A receiver may only be used on one television screen at a time. 

You will require as many receivers as you have TVs.

Equipment

Maskatel provides certain pieces of equipment for free for 

customers. These pieces of equipment are the exclusive property 

of Groupe Maskatel, unless with a written agreement stating the 

contrary. When you cancel your subscription, you must return all 

the equipment to us, in good working condition. To this end, and 

if required, please read the “Acknowledgement of equipment 

rental” document.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Maskatel is committed to offering services in accordance with the 

provisions stated herein but does not assume any liability as to 

the use of this service by a client or a third party.

Maskatel will in no way be responsible for any default in the 

delivery of services offered that can cause financial or material 

damage, directly or indirectly to a client or a third party, included 

but not limited to, loss of revenue or profits, loss or destruction 

of data, software, programs, personal equipment, or any other 

damage, whatever it may be.

Maskatel will in no way be responsible for the performance of 

the Internet service and does not guarantee the performance, 

availability, or continuous or uninterrupted functioning of services. 

Maskatel will not be held responsible for any damage or loss 

resulting, directly or indirectly, for any reason, in the present 

guideline. It is possible that not all services are available at the 

client’s location of residence.

Maskatel will in no way be responsible for documents, links, 

confidentiality, products, or services offered on the Internet and 

the client is the sole party responsible for how they access and 

use this content, included but not limited to, any loss or damage 

of any kind resulting from related transactions or associations.

Maskatel will in no way be responsible for the television 

distribution service and does not guarantee the programming, 

availability, content, usage, or quality of programs aired, 

nor the quality of the reception of signals that transmit this 

programming.

Maskatel advises all its clients that after they connect, 

disconnect, modify their phone system and/or Internet 

connection, the clients are responsible for configuring the 

installation that is connected to an alarm system. Maskatel 

assumes no liability in this regard.

ACCEPTANCE

The client who uses Maskatel’s services also understands that all 

the terms and conditions described herein will remain in effect until 

Maskatel notifies you, by writing, phone, or email, of its intention to 

no longer adhere to them or terminate the contract, if applicable, 

upon which time Maskatel will immediately disconnect the service 

and will bill the client in accordance with the applicable conditions.
