2.1.4 Safety instruction
2.1.4.1 Forestry Applications
Standard tractors do not offer sufficient protection against forestry application risks such as trees or
branches falling on the protection structure and penetration of objects into the protection structure.
2.1.4.2 Precautions before starting
Before starting the engine, make sure all controls are set to neutral position, especially the power take-off
lever. Start the engine only in well ventilated environment. Before starting the tractor, ensure that nobody is
standing nearby. Completely loosen the hand brake before moving off. Do not approach any job if tractor
conditions are not satisfactory.
2.1.4.3 Wear safety gear
Wear close fitting clothing and safety equipment appropriate for the job. Operator's full attention is
required to work in safety conditions. Do not wear earphones for radio or music when operating the
machine. DO NOT wear loose clothes, jewels or other objects and gather up your hair, if long, since it could
get entangled in the controls or other tractor parts.
2.1.4.4 Noise protections
Prolonged exposure to loud noise can cause impairment or loss of hearing. To protect yourself against loud
noise, use a suitable ear protector such as earmuffs or ear plugs.
2.1.4.5 Proper use of steps and hand grips
To avoid any fall, always face the machine when getting on and off. Keep 3 support points using steps and
handrail. Never hold onto machine controls. Be extremely careful when mud, snow or humidity create
slippery conditions. Keep steps clean and free from oil or grease. Never jump off the machine. Never jump
on or off the vehicle while it is moving.
