2.1.4.17 Roll over protection structures (ROPS)
This tractor features a Roll Over Protection
Structure (ROPS) or a ROPS safety cab protecting
the operator in case the machine tips over. Keep
the roll over protection structure (ROPS) in fully
extended and locked position. If the roll over
protection structure is used in the folded position
(e.g. to enter in a small building), drive with utmost
care. When roll over protection structure is folded,
DO NOT use the safety belts. Before using the
tractor under normal conditions, take the roll over
protection structure to fully extended and locked
position. In this conditions, always use the safety
belts. It is recommended to abide by the following
precautions:
CAUTION:
The list provided concerning the
possible cases of overturning is
incomplete.
• Do not use the tractor on slopes or in such
conditions as to jeopardise its safety and
stability. Beyond its limits, the tractor could tip
over or roll over. Strictly comply with the
recommendations given in this manual and pay
special attention when running down steep
slopes with tractor loaded.
• Do not drive tractor on or close to the edge of
ditches, canals, banks or embankments with
loose bottom or dug-out by rodents. The tractor
could sink on one side and tip over.
• Do not use the tractor on bridges or crossings
that are unstable and/or have loose bottom or
insufficiently strong. Do not use the tractor on
bridges or crossings that are unstable and/or
have loose bottom or insufficiently strong.
• Do not use the tractor beyond its dynamic
stability limits. High speed, harsh driving and
narrow bends run at high speed increase risk of
tipping over.
• Do not use the tractor for towing or extraction
jobs if you do not know the extent of pulling
effort, like for instance in log pulling. The tractor
could roll over to the back if the log is hard to
pull.
• Pay utmost attention when using the tractor on
piles of silage products with no cement
boundaries. To increase tractor side stability you
can either install twin wheels or increase track.
• Be careful since tractor centre of gravity could
shift upward while lifting loads with the front
loader or three-point hitch. In these conditions
the tractor might suddenly tip over.
