6-2 Master/Slave Operation Procedures
In order to perform master/slave operations, follow the steps below.
In master/slave operation, the master unit carries out all settings.
In the case where the number of slave units and the settings for the slave units have already been done,
start with step 4.
[Step 1] Connecting Master/Slave Cable
Make sure that the input and master/slave cables are securely connected.
If you operate the POWER switch in the wrong order or connect the cables incorrectly, it may result in
malfunctions or failure. Be sure to follow the correct procedure from the beginning to operate the unit.
[Step 2] Turning on the POWER switch on the slave units and setting up the slave unit
Turn on the POWER switch on the slave unit to start up the slave unit.
The slave units have items for setting up the slave units like slave unit 1 and slave unit 2, so make these
settings respectively.
To connect only one slave unit to the master/slave connection, set the settings to Slave Unit 1, or to
connect two slave units, set the settings to Slave Unit 1 and 2, respectively. Note that the unit will not
operate normally if two slave units are set to Slave Unit1 or Slave Unit2.
After saving the settings, turn off the POWER switch on the slave units.
[Step 3] Turning on the power switch on the master unit and setting up the number of slaves to the
master unit
Turn on the POWER switch on the master unit to start it up.
Since the master unit has an item for setting up the number of slave units, set the number of slave units. If
the setting does not match that in step 2, the unit will not operate properly.

After saving the settings, turn off the POWER switch on the master unit.
[Step 4] Turning on the POWER switch
Turn on the POWER switch in the order of the slave unit and then for the master unit.
Of course, you can also turn on the POWER switch for the slave and master units simultaneously.
When the power is on or off in the master/slave mode:
Be sure to power on from the slave unit or power on at the same time. If the master unit is first turned on, it
may not operate properly.
When a slave unit displays "MS COMM FAULT!”:
It means the master unit was first activated. On the other hand, if you want to turn the power off, be sure to
turn off the slave units first and then the master or turn them off at the same time. If the order is reversed,
the unit may not operate properly.
