6-4 Master/Slave Protective Operation
This unit is equipped with a function that shuts down its output and safely stops it when the protection is
activated.
The state in which the output is off and the unit is stopped is called a fault condition. The operation differs
between standalone operation and master/slave operation.
1. Factor for faults
Factors that may cause the output being off and the unit stopped are cut-off protection such as OVP, OCP,
OPP, and door switch (interlock), and over-temperature protection.
For details, refer to [4-2 Operation for Protective Function].
2. Faults in master/slave operation
For protective functions during master/slave operations, the master unit provides voltage and current limit,
overvoltage protection (OVP), overcurrent protection (OCP), and sink-power protection (OPP) to protect
the entire master/slave, and overtemperature protection (OT) and sink-power protection (OPP) in which
each unit protects only itself.
Even if one of the slave units detects an error, the entire master/slave units shut off its output and shift to a
fault state.
To clear the fault state, remove the factors from the unit that detected errors and press the "OUTPUT"
switch on the master unit.
Pressing the "OUTPUT" switch on the slave unit will not clear the fault state even if the slave unit is the
cause.
Slave 1
Slave 2
The slave unit 1 detected an
error and the entire units are in
a fault state.
Master unit
After removing the
factors from the unit
and press the
"OUTPUT" switch to
clear.
