Precautions for Handling

1.  Set the output voltage to

“0” zero. Turn off the HV ON/OFF switch.

2.  Check the output voltage with the output voltmeter of the unit.

3.  Turn off the POWER ON/OFF switch.

4.  Ground the output for more than 10 seconds and check that the output voltage is

“0” zero with

another  high-voltage

“HV”  voltmeter.  It  is  especially  dangerous  when  a  capacitive  load  is

connected or a long cable is used other than the output cable enclosed with the unit.

5.  Touch  the  load  or  wiring with  your  right  hand  only.  Do  not  use  your  left  hand  to  avoid  serious

damage.

1.  For safe operation, be sure to ground the ground terminal of the unit at one point.

2.  Make sure to ground properly as shown above. Improper grounding may result in electric shock

or serious damage to the unit.

3.  In case a short circuit or discharge of the load is expected, make the ground wire shorter and

thicker.

1.  It  would  be  rather  safe  if  the  unit  is  operated  on  an  insulation  board,  which  is  withstand  the

voltage used.

2.  Try  to  handle  the  power supply  or  load  with  your  right  hand,  and  try  to  keep  the  left  hand, for

example, putting it pocket.

3.  Ground  the  output  more  than  10  seconds  before  touching  the  load  after  turning  off  the  power

supply even long time has past after turning off the power supply.

Troubleshooting

In case there is no output voltage

1.  Check if the proper input voltage is supplied to the unit.

AC input voltage: rating voltage ±10%, 50/60Hz single phase

Control voltage for external voltage control: 0 to +10V

2.  Check  that  the  wire  for  external  voltage  control  is  correctly  connected  to  the  control

connector on the rear panel is correct.

3.  Check if the option function is properly used based on the instruction manual.

How to GROUND

FOR SAFER OPERATION

Wires should be:

more than 5sq

less than about 2m

No bare wire

Ground

Output cable

Ground terminal

Load frame

Ground at one point
