AUDIO·PHOTO·VIDEO-PLAYER
21. Why does my player display ”Incorrect format - reformat
the player” when I switch it on?
– the player has been formatted with the wrong system, for
example ntFs, mac os or unix.
to enable it again for playing audio tracks, please format the play-
er in Fat/Fat32 format.
If formatting was not successful, please reinstall the firmware
while the player is in recovery mode.
maybe you have to use reset hole whileconnecting and holding
menu button in this process so that the device can be recognized
again by the firmware update software.
22. What determines the data transfer speed?
– the usB data transfer speed acts in accordance with the used Pc
system (regarding processor, usB controller, load, etc.).
using Windows 98se, for example, the maximum data transfer
speed is usB Full speed.
even Windows xP needs at least service Pack 1 for providing
usB high speed data transfer.
– Please check the ms Windows device manager, if a correct
driver for your usB 2.0 controller is installed. a correct usB 2.0
controller and installed driver would show an entry like
‚...usB 2.0 enhanced hostcontroller‘ in the usB controller
branch.
– a connected usB 1.1 device like a hub or a card reader reduces
the transfer speed down to 1.1. Please disconnect those devices
in order to use high speed transfer speed.
– Flash memory can never come up to the speed of a usB hard
disk.
24. Is the player able to show long file and folder names in
navigation?
– yes.
25. Why does my PC not detect the player with Windows XP?
– maxfield usB devices support hot Plug & Play.
that means you don‘t need additional files when using Windows
xP, because the system accesses to Windows internal drivers.
In case this automatical detection does not work, please contact
support of your Pc vendor, or reinstall your operating system.
26. Can I use the player with my old USB 1.1 connection as
well?
– yes. the player is downwards compatible to usB 1.1.
27. Why do I have problems with WMAs?
– music files downloaded from sites like musicload, msn music
and other download services must be directly copied to the player
by ms™ Windows mediaPlayer
®
. otherwise, you would lose the
acquired property right.
In the mediaPlayer
®
9 the function is called „copy to cd or mobi-
le device”, in mediaPlayer
®
10 „synchronize”. For further advice
please refer to the „help” section of mediaPlayer
®
.
– even for audio cds ripped with the mediaPlayer the property
rights might already be spoken for. therefore, in this case, the re-
spective tracks can be further transferred to mobile devices with
the mediaPlayer only, not with the Windows explorer.
28. Why is my battery sooner low than announced?
— referring to quality and type of data, the player needs more
power and a higher capacity is necessary. a Wma-file, for examp-
le, needs more power than an mP3-track with the same quality.
29. Why are the two ends of the earphones different in
length?
– For the purpose of strain relief, the longer part of the earphones
is supposed to be worn behind the head.
