provided.
Using a hobby knife, cut away the small
amount of covering between the holes in the
bottom of each aileron. Locate the 2 control
horns with the spikes on the bottom and glue
them into the ailerons with medium CA.
Re-center the aileron servo and then slip the
aileron pushrod through the outer hole in the
servo arm. Put an adjustable
pushrod connector in the outer
hole of the control horn. Adjust
the length of the pushrod by
sliding the pushrod through the
pushrod connecter until the
aileron trailing edge at the inside
end is level with the wing trailing
edge. Tighten the screw in the
pushrod connecter to lock in the
adjustment.
Install and adjust the aileron servo, control horn and pushrod on the other wing the
same way..
ASSEMBLE THE LANDING GEAR STRUT BRACES AND GEAR DOORS:
Locate the black painted plywood strut brace pieces and the two 5 1/2" long plywood
wedges. The gear should be
retracted for the first two steps.
Assemble the three flat pieces
as shown in the photo..
The wedge goes in between the
upright pieces with the wide part
at the retract end of the brace
assembly. Try this step first without glue. If the wedge is installed correctly, the
brace should be flush with the surface of the wing when it is pushed onto the gear
strut.
Glue the wedge in place and then,
using epoxy
, glue the brace onto the strut,
making sure that the brace is
flush with the surface of the
wing.
CAUTION:
Make sure
that no glue runs into the gear
retract mechanism while you
are doing this or the next
step.
Use a minimal amount of
glue and make sure it has all set
before you put the wing into a
position that would allow the glue to run toward the retract mechanism. We
