Operation
• Slide the MAIN fader control (47) down completely (minimum).
• Slide the channel fader control (12) down completely (minimum).
• Turn the GAIN control (4) completely to the left.
• Activate the BATT ON switch (11).
• Connect a typical audio signal to the channel, e.g. the line signal of a keyboard or CD player.
• Slide the channel fader (12) to the marked position between 0 and 5.
• Slide the MAIN fader control (47) to the marked position between 0 and 5.
• Slowly turn the GAIN control (4) to the right.
• The GAIN control (4) allows you to set the channel signal level. Use sound controls (6), (7), and (8) to modify the
sound of the channel signal.
• Watch the recording level display (44). The LED display shows the output signal level and should not exceed 6.
Also watch the CLIP LED (5). If it lights up, the input signal is distorted. In such a case, reduce the level using
the GAIN control (4).
• Proceed likewise for the other channels. Note that with stereo inputs, the MIC GAIN control or the LINE GAIN
control serve as the input level control instead of the GAIN control.
• All channels should be set to about the same volume so that there are no great differences in volume between
the channels when cross-fading. Otherwise you have to readjust the output signal.
Make sure that the connected loudspeakers and the amplifier are not overloaded. Playback
should never be distorted. This might damage the amplifier or the loudspeakers.
If there are distorted music signals even though the volume on the amplifier has not been set
too high and the mixer has been set correctly, switch off the mixer immediately and check the
connection. If the connection is correct, please contact a specialist.
Using headphones
Turn the PHONES control (49) all the way to the left before plugging in or unplugging the
headphones, before putting on the headphones or before switching the mixer on or off!
Otherwise there is the risk of excessive volume at the headphones output.
• Increase the volume of the headphones carefully until the desired volume is reached.
