A. Console Assembly

The console assembly is a built-up assembly
consisting of seven panel sub assemblies, a
tray assembly, receptacle strips, and various
support angles, gussets, and clips. The console
assembly, and all included components, are
secondary structural components.

Within the console assembly, the panel
subassemblies are mechanically fastened
together with rivets to form the exterior
structure of the assembly. The tray assembly
is riveted between and to the forward vertical
panel assemblies along the upper edges to
provide the installation and support provisions
for the Integrated Instrument Display System
(IIDS). The receptacle strips are riveted in
their respective positions and provide the
provisions for mounting of the various electri
cal panels and optional avionics equipment.

The detail components included in panel
subassemblies within the console assembly, as
well as the support angles, gussets, and clips,
are fabricated from aluminum alloy sheet.

The receptacle strips are standard configura
tion instrument receptacle strips that utilize
an aluminum alloy extrusion and stainless
steel wire.

8. Cabin Door Track

(Ref. Figure 1)

The left and right upper door tracks are
installed using rivets. The lower tracks are
installed with bolts. The upper and lower door
tracks are machined and formed from alumi
num alloy extrusions.

9. Work Platform Assemblies

(Ref. Figure 1 and Figure 10)

The platform assemblies are attached by
riveted hinges, and cable assemblies. All

components within this installation are
secondary structural components.

Upper and Lower Platform -

The upper

and lower platform are composite sandwich
panel assemblies that utilizes multiple ply
skins and reinforcement plies of graphite/
epoxy and fiberglass/epoxy cocured with a
Nomex honeycomb core. Around the periphery
of the panel, the core is tapered and the panel
transitions to form an edge that is a monolithic
laminate.

Platform Support Brackets

The two

platform support brackets attach the upper
and lower platform to the cable assemblies.
These components are fabricated from
aluminum alloy sheet. Attachment to the
upper and lower platform is by screws and
nuts.

Hinges

−

The hinges are fabricated from

standard hinge assemblies.

Hinge Flap Assembly

−

The hinge flap and

bracket are fabricated from aluminum alloy
sheet. The hinge halves and pin are standard
hardware. Components within this subassem
bly are riveted together.

Cable Assemblies-

The cable assemblies are

fabricated using standard 3/32-inch diameter
wire rope. Standard configuration fork-type
cable terminals and swaged ball ends are
installed at each end of the cable assembly.
