(9). Torque cable end fittings (4) and safety

with lockwire (C702).

(10). Loosen interconnect cable jam nuts (2)

and cable end fittings (4) on inboard
side of copilot collective stick assembly.

(11). Rotate adjustment connectors (3) until

NORMAL

indicator arrows on both

twist grips align with the arrow on the
collective stick within

0.030 inch

(0.762 mm)

(12). Rotate both twist grips clockwise and

counterclockwise about the

NORMAL

position and adjust the connectors (3)
on the inboard side of the copilot
collective stick assembly so that
freeplay at the grips is equidistant
about the

NORMAL

position marks on

the body of the stick and grips.

(13). Torque jam nuts (2) on inboard side of

copilot's collective stick. Verify distance
between top of connector (3) and case of
copilot's collective stick is

.78 in. (19.81

mm)

. Safety jam nuts (2) with lockwire

(C702) .

(14). Confirm that control systems are free to

move through the full range of travel
without mechanical interference (Ref.
Main Rotor Flight Control System
Operational Test, Section 67-10-00).
After final rigging, a minimum clear
ance of

0.125 inch (3.175 mm)

required between control cables and
structure.

(15). Confirm torque and lockwire on all

installation hardware.

(16). Perform engine controls functional test

(Ref. Section 76-00-00).

(1). Apply external power (Ref. Section

96-00-00).

(2). Apply hydraulic pressure (Ref. External

Hydraulic Pressure Application (GSE
Cart), Section 29-00-00).

Avoid applying side loads on
detent module control rod ends

when connecting or disconnecting control
cables from detent module. Bending of con
trol rods may cause damage or render the
detent module inoperative.

NOTE:

When rigging pilot and copilot collective
stick twist grips, ensure that rig pin in en
gine control box is removed or engine con
trol cables between detent module and
engine control boxes are disconnected.

Rack and pinion gear boxes in the collec
tive stick assemblies and engine control
box assemblies are supplied preset to
minimum backlash values. Anti-back
lash adjustments shall not be made to
these units. Only provisions on the top
and bottom surfaces of the detent module
are to be adjusted during engine control
rigging procedures.

A binding or racheting condition in the
throttle grips can be corrected or reduced
by loosening the jam nuts and cable end
fittings and rotating the cable outer
sleeve. Once the condition has been re
moved or reduced, torque and safety all
jam nuts and cable end fittings as re
quired.
