Charging the Caravan
Mains Power
Your RV will charge from mains power via the Projecta 7 stage charger. Ensure the charger is plugged
into its dedicated outlet in its bay and is switched on. The factory battery in your RV is Lithium Iron
Phosphate (LiFePO4)
Solar Power
The roof mounted solar panels will charge automatically provided there is enough radiated energy from
the sun.
Motor Vehicle
Your towing vehicle should be fitted with an Anderson plug connection to charge your caravan while
towing.
A 12-pin trailer plug is also required. In addition to the standard wiring to pins 1 to 7, power must be
supplied to the number 12 pin for the trigger wire for the DC-DC charger while the engine is running.
•
The IDC25L is programmed to favour the solar power supply until the supply falls below the minimum
threshold for the controller. By supplying power to the trigger wire through the #12 pin, the unit will
switch mode to favour the supply via the Anderson plug when the tow vehicle engine is running.
Vehicles that have a “smart alternator” require the IDC25L to be activated via the trigger wire for the ECU
to detect
the charge requirement of the RV battery.
Preparing for Bad Weather
During inclement weather the following should be done:
•
Close all roof vents and hatches to prevent water entering.
•
Protect the awning from high winds by retracting or securing with guy ropes and pegs.
•
Ensure your caravan is not parked in ground that will become boggy and prevent exiting the
camp area
•
Close all external doors and hatches to prevent water ingress and wind damage
