The BG-5000 is self-diagnosing and in the unlikely event that you need to troubleshoot your unit, identify this
module, and determine the series of lights displayed. Refer to the below table to identify the status of the unit.

Check that the power source is 12-15
volts. Verify good power and ground
connections

Check ground wire connections to the
trailer battery and tow vehicle
4 RED flashes Brake short (right side)
Correct the short on the right-side brake
wiring
3 RED flashes Brake short (left side)
Correct the short on the left side brake
wiring
2 RED flashes Sensor malfunction - no sway control
Service centre repair required

Blue Wire Short – System malfunction
Correct the blue wire short, Service centre
repair may be required.
Fast RED

Low voltage - between 3 to 6 volts
Check the power and ground connections
