Installation Procedure Warning/Cautions
CAUTION —
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for
a Class A digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. It generates, uses,
and can radiate radio frequency energy which may cause interference to radio
communications. Operation of this equipment in a residential area may cause
interference to TV and radio reception, in which case the user, at his own expense,
must take whatever measures may be required to correct the interference.
CAUTION —
In order to prevent a rise in the internal temperature, there is an air
circulation vent placed on the front panel, and fans are located on the rear panel.
Blocking the air circulation vent or fans will cause overheating inside the equipment,
which may result in an equipment failure or a fire.
Avoid any direct contact with the fans while the system is in operation.

The equipment weighs approximately 88 pounds (40 kg) fully loaded.
This equipment requires that it be carried and/or installed by two personnel. Doing
otherwise may result in bodily injury.
Unless otherwise indicated, numbered circles (or bullets) on photo’s and diagrams
will indicate procedural steps.
WARNING —
Prior to installation of a chassis in a rack or cabinet, the Pre-Installation
Requirements procedure
must
me accomplished. Refer to Required Pre-Installation
This manual is intended for trained network engineers responsible for servicing
and operating the MD8000 platform.
The socket-outlet to be used for powering the chassis has a connection to
the building protective earth.
Perform Required Pre-Installation Requirements — page 3-6.3, prior to installing
or applying power to the chassis.
