Assembling the Discovery Seat
Attaching the hip supports
Secure the hip support to the seat depth bracket
(B)
with bolts
(H)
.
Follow the same procedure to secure the opposite hip support.
Assembling the backrest
Lift the backrest up until the hole in the backrest rear cross tube
(C)
lines up
with the hole in seat depth bracket
(A)
.
Slide the brass bush into the hole in the backrest rear cross tube
(C)
. Place the
large plastic washer between the cross tube
(C)
and the seat depth bracket
(A)
.
Now insert the countersink screw
(B)
into the brass bush in the rear cross tube
(C)
through the seat depth bracket and large black plastic washer
(D)
.
Secure the assembly by sliding onto the countersink screw a plain washer
(F)
followed by a nyloc nut
(G)
. Using a 4mm hex allen key and a 10mm ring
spanner/socket tighten the assembly.
NOTE:
Ensure the assembly is tight and the countersink screw threads
(B)
have pene-
trated through the plastic ring on the nyloc nut
(D)
. Ensure thread is visible past
the nyloc ring.
Follow the same procedure to secure the opposite side of the backrest rear
tube to the seat depth bracket.
Ensure both pivot points assembled are not overtightened and the backrest
can still be angled smoothly.
