ASSWORD
You can prevent unauthorized access to your Notebook by set-
ting a User Password. When starting the Notebook the pass-
word will be requested. The User Password is set in the
BIOS
.

Attention: Keep your password in safety place. If
you forget your password you do not have the
possibility to cancel it. In this case please call
your service centre.
To protect your data from unauthorized access, you can also
use the security option of Windows
xp
. See also chapter „Data
and System Security“ (p. 63).

SING A SAFETY LOCK
You can prevent theft by using a so called
Kensington-lock
,
which can be bought at your local retailer.
The cable wraps around an object and the „T“ shaped end in-
serts into the Kensington lock port and a key or combination
dial is used to secure the lock in place. Please keep your key at
a safety place.
