Auger shaft
The shear pins on the auger shaft should be
removed at least once every season. Spray
lubricant in the shaft and lubricate the plastic
bearings in the auger at least every season.
Auger bearings
Lubricate the auger bearings and the bearings
on the side of the frame with a thin oil once
every season.
Shear pins
The auger is mounted on the spiral shaft with
two shear pins and cotters. The shear pins can
break off if the auger hits ice or a solid object.
If the auger does not rotate, check whether the
shear pins have sheared off. Two extra shear
pins are included. Apply lubricant in the shaft
before fitting the new shear pins.
IMPORTANT:
Never replace the shear pins with anything
other than identical shear pins from the
manufacturer.
Any damage incurred if other components
are used is not covered by the warranty.
Drive and gear mechanism
Lubricate once a year, or after every 25 working
hours. Remove the rear cover and lubricate the
chains, sprockets, bearings, shafts and gear
components at least once per season with
engine oil or lubricating spray. Keep the tyres
and aluminium belt pulleys free from grease
and oil.
Control handle, ejector unit
Lubricate the worm gear to set the ejection
angle with a suitable grease.
Transmission
IMPORTANT:
Never spray water on the engine – risk of fuel
contamination or water entering through the
muffler and damaging the engine.
LUBRICATION
Drive and gear mechanism
Lubricate once a year, or after every 25 working
hours. Remove the rear cover and lubricate the
bearings, shafts and gear components once a
year with engine oil or lubricating spray (e.g.
WD40).
Gear linkage
Lubricate the gear linkage with a suitable
grease once a year, or after every 25 working
hours.
IMPORTANT:
Keep the tyres and aluminium belt pulleys
free from grease and oil.
Control for ejection angle
Lubricate the worm gear to set the ejection
angle with a suitable grease.
Gearbox
The gearbox is lubricated at the factory and
does not need any maintenance. If it needs to
be dismantled for any reason, lubricate with 60
ml of Shell GADUS S2 V220 0. Before replacing
the gearbox, remove the old seal and replace
with a new one.
IMPORTANT:
Do not overfill the gearbox, this can damage
the seal. Check that the vent plug is free from
grease.
