MAINTENANCE
WARNING!
Risk of personal injury. Pull out the plug
and wait until the product has cooled before
cleaning, adjusting and maintenance.
NOTE:
Never immerse the product in water or any
other liquid.
Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the surface
of the product. Do not use solvent, petrol, or
strong or abrasive chemicals.
The tool requires very little maintenance. Soot
which in time collects on the soldering tips
must, however, be removed. Remove the soot
with fine sandpaper to restore the precision
and effectiveness of the soldering tips.
Only use spare parts and accessories
recommended by the manufacturer. Any
repairs should be carried out by an authorised
service centre or other qualified personnel.
The soldering tip (9) is a separate wearing part
that must be replaced when it is worn.
STORAGE AND TRANSPORT
• Store the product protected from dust,
preferably in the original packaging. Keep
this product out of the reach of children. A
suitable storage temperature is 10 to
30°C.
• Protect the product from knocking and
vibrations during transport.
For bigger jobs, clean the tip at regular
intervals with the moist sponge and apply new
solder on the tip.
UNSOLDERING
With desoldering braid:
1. Put the desoldering braid on the solder
to be removed and heat it up with the
soldering tip (9). The solder melts and is
absorbed in the desoldering braid.
With solder suction pump:
1. Tension the suction pump and heat the
solder to be removed with the soldering
tip. When the solder has melted release
the catch on the pump, whereby the
pump sucks up the melted solder.
DURING A PAUSE IN THE WORK
AND AFTER FINISHING
The soldering iron should be placed in the
soldering station stand (11) during a pause in
the work.
1. After finishing the work put the power
switch (3) in position [0], place the
soldering iron in the soldering station
stand (11) and allow the soldering iron to
cool.
2. Pull out the plug from the power point
during longer pauses in the work.
3. Allow the product to cool before putting
it away.
STANDBY MODE
The product automatically goes into standby
mode after 30 minutes of inactivity. In standby
mode the display shows 200°C.
