SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read the Operating Instructions carefully before use!
General
Save these Operating Instructions for future reference.
Electrical repairs must only be carried out by an authorised service centre. The welding machine
must be disconnected from the mains supply before carrying out repairs.
Covers must not be dismantled by unauthorised personnel and the welding machine must not be
used with any of the covers dismantled.
The welding machine must be correctly installed in accordance with the instructions in these
Operating Instructions.
Always disconnect the welding machine from the mains supply before servicing and repairs.
In normal conditions MIG welding machines are easy and safe to use. Do not expose the welding
machine to rain or damp conditions.
The welding machine can be used on a surface with an inclination of up to 15
. If the welding
machine has wheels, they must be locked.
Do not use the welding machine if the power cord or plug is damaged in any way. For safety
reasons, the power cord may only be replaced or repaired by an authorised service centre.
Toxic gases are produced during MIG welding. Make sure the work area is well ventilated.
Fire
All flammable materials must be removed from the work area.
Do not initiate a welding arc in the vicinity of gas cylinders.
Do not attempt to weld fuel containers before all the fuel and all fuel vapours have been carefully
evacuated. Fuel containers must be cleaned with steam before welding.
Glare
The electric arc generated during MIG welding emits direct heat and ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Protect the
eyes with a welding shield or welding helmet provided with the proper protective glass.
Protective clothing
Wear welding gloves, a face mask and overall. They protect the hands from UV radiation and direct heat
from the welding arc.
A leather apron must be worn to provide protection from spatter when welding with higher settings.
The head and neck must be protected with a helmet and scarf when welding above head height.
Wear protective shoes designed for this type of work.
Other information
Do not expose the welding machine to rain or snow.
Do not use the welding machine in wet or damp places.
The welding machine must not be used to thaw frozen pipes.
