WARNING: Alerts the reader to situations where a serious hazard to personnel can occur.
Commonly used to notify users to heed safety precautions to avoid risk of injury or death
from severe electrical shock.
A specific notice to alert users about proper disposal of the unit. Commonly presented as follows:

Safety Precautions
Read and follow all safety precautions and safe operating practices in this manual. The precautions and warnings must
be read and understood before use. Retain these warnings for future reference.
The instrument is intended to perform measurements only on de-energized and isolated conductors. There is no
connection rating to protect from accidental connection to live circuits.
The instrument must be operated only by suitably trained and competent persons with formal operating
procedures and authorization.
Training must include a clear understanding of the risks from operating the instrument, and adequate formal
operating procedures and authorization to protect personnel from harm.
Do not exceed maximum operating capabilities of the ADX tester or power packs.
The safe maximum limit of a measurement connection is that of the lowest rated component in the measurement
circuit formed by the instrument, test leads, and accessories (if used).
The general safety information presented here is for both operating and service personnel. You will find specific
warnings and cautions throughout this manual where they apply.

General
Local health and safety legislation requires users of this equipment and their employers to carry out valid risk
assessments of all electrical work to identify potential sources of danger and risk of injury.
Always use only the rated power cord provided by Megger Baker Instruments with this unit. Do not replace this
cord with any other power cord.
The ADX has a mass up to 19.5 kg (45 lb). Two-person lift is recommended. Disconnect the test leads and close the
front cover before moving the ADX.
This product is not intrinsically safe for use in an explosive environment. Do not use it in an explosive environment.
Protection provided by the instrument may be impaired if it is not used in a manner specified by the manufacturer.
Do not use the instrument if any part of it is damaged or malfunctioning. Visually inspect the unit before each use
to confirm that it is in good working order.
