CLEARANCES
1.
Be sure adequate clearances are maintained
between energized conductors and ground to
prevent arc over. Such accidental arc-overs
may create a safety hazard or damage the
equipment being tested. The position of the
exposed conductors with respect to ground
can often be maintained in place with clean,
dry nylon rope. The chart below indicates
some recommended clearances that will limit
the danger of static voltages being induced or
developed on nearby insulated objects,
including people.
