7 – Unpacking and checking
1. Remove the packaging material
and all protective film.
2. Make sure that children do not
have access to packing material
and protective film. These may
cause a choking hazard!
3. Check the machine and
accessories for completeness and
visible damage. The machine
should never be started up if
there is damage of any kind.
8 – Charging the
rechargeable battery
CAUTION! The battery type
AS108BP of this cordless drill
AS108M-1 may only be charged
with the charger type RSS1002-
048135-W2E-D-C. Any use of any
other charger or the use of
charger type RSS1002-048135-
W2E-D-C connected to a power
supply other than the one listed
on the type plate may lead to
personal injury and damages.
Lithium-Ion technology
This new type of battery has
decisive advantages compared to
conventional Ni-Cd batteries:
• No memory effect, i.e. the
rechargeable battery can be
charged at any time, either before
or after use, regardless of the
charge status without loss of
capacity.
• Extremely low self-discharge, thus
it can be used even after a longer
period of storage.
• Lightweight
• Long battery life
Removing the battery (Fig. 2)
Press the battery release button (6)
and pull the battery (8) out of the
battery holder.
Insert the battery (Fig. 2)
Slide the battery (8) and up to the
stop into the battery holder until an
audible click is heard.
Charge battery (Fig. 3)
CAUTION! The rechargeable
battery is not completely
charged when it leaves the
factory. Charge the battery before
using for the first time.
CAUTION! To charge the
battery, use only the included
AC adapter/charger (11) provided.
