Purpose
For smoothing only the
fence (7) need be fitted.
For chamfering the fence
and depth stop need not be
fitted.
Fitting and setting fence
Risk of injury. Always unplug
from mains before changing
bits!
Fitting fence.
Setting fence: loosen T-bolt nut
underneath. Set fence to the desired
rebate width (max. 82 mm).
Retighten T-bolt nut.
Changing blades
Risk of injury. Always unplug
from mains before changing
blades! Wear protective gloves!
Lay planer on the work bench with the
sole facing up. Rotate the blade shaft
until a blade can be seen.
Using an open-ended spanner, loosen the
three hexagonal nuts (a half-turn only!).
Swing protective cap down and, using a
screwdriver, push the blade out
sideways. Loosen jammed blades by
tapping them lightly on their front face.
The two-edged reversible blades can be
re-inserted with the good edge facing
up. They need not be replaced until
both edges are dull.
