Pre-caution

Check fabric type is suitable for high steam 

temperature

Switch steam setting to 0 (off) after use or 

when filling tank.

Fill to MAX mark only.

If iron is left on the item in the horizontal 

position for too long it may burn the fabric.

Check temperature setting is suitable for 

fabric type.

Ensure iron is in the upright position.

Appliance must be of similar wattage to 

prevent overloading.

Note that there can be up to 5 household 

plug sockets on 1 circuit.

Check temperature setting is suitable for 

fabric type.

Use a old linen cloth to remove any trace 

of dirt on the soleplate. Use iron soleplate 

cleaner for bad marks.

Check temperature setting is suitable for 

fabric type.

Ensure temperature control dial is set to the 

3 dot position for steaming.

Check temperature setting is suitable for 

fabric type.

Use distilled or demineralised water in your 

iron to prevent blocking.

Action

Set the temperature to steam setting (cotton)

Turn steam switch setting to steam or 0  

position

Empty water tank

When adjusting item place iron down in the 

vertical position

Turn the temperature control dial to the 

desired temperature setting.

Switch on household socket

Check the socket with another appliance

Unplug all appliances attached to the same 

circuit and check iron.

Turn down temparature on control dial.

Clean and rinse item.

Use spray function to dampen item and 

check temperture is correct. 

Use steam function.

Set the steam button/switch to on or full.

Set temperature control dial to MAX or 3 dot 

position for steaming.

If your iron is fitted with a self clean function 

carry out cleaning as per instructions.

Reason

Temperature is too low

Steam switch is on self clean

Tank is overfilled

Iron is in the horizontal position 

too long.

Temperature control dial is in 

the off position

Household socket is off.

Household socket is not 

working

Overloaded circuit.

Temperature is too hot

Clothing is dirty or not rinsed 

thoroughly.

The steam control is off or set

The iron temperature is

The steam valve is blocked 

due to water scale.
