Using solid fat
WARNING!
Do not put solid fat in the oil container or the
deep-fryer basket.
• Solid vegetable fat must be melted in a
separate container and carefully poured
into the oil container.
• Previously used solid vegetable fat that
has hardened in the oil container must be
removed from the container and melted
in a separate container before being used
again.
WARNING!
• Never attempt to melt the hardened
solid fat in the oil container, this can
cause melted fat to splash up through
the hardened surface.
• Solid fat can only be melted in the
deep-fryer as follows.
1. Allow the fat to reach room temperature.
If the fat is cold there is a greater risk of
splashing.
2. Make a few holes in the fat with a fork.
3. Make sure the lid is properly closed while
the fat is melting.
4. Turn the temperature control to 150°C.
WARNING!
The power light goes on when the plug is
plugged in. The status light goes on when the
fat/oil in the container has reached the set
temperature.

TIP
Deep-frying
• Always use the deep-fryer basket.
• The status light goes on when the oil has
reached the set temperature.
• Lower the deep-fryer basket slowly into
the hot oil. If the deep-fryer basket is
lowered too quickly into the oil there is a
risk of splashing or the oil overflowing.
• Carefully put the lid on, and always keep it
closed during the deep-frying. Otherwise
hot oil can splash out from the container.
• Steam is forced out under the edges of
the lid during the deep-frying.
• Do not stand too near the deep-fryer
when in use.
• Do not mix old and new oil.
• Change the oil at regular intervals. The oil
can quickly become contaminated when
deep-frying food with a high protein
content, such as poultry, meat or fish. If
the oil is mainly used for deep-frying
potatoes and is filtered after use it can be
used 8–10 times. Do not use the same oil
for longer than 6 months.
• Change the oil the oil if it gets darker, if it
foams when heated, or if it smells or
tastes rancid, or if it becomes syrupy.
• Check that the food to be deep-fried is dry.
Remove any loose ice from frozen food
before deep-frying.
• The food should be divided into equal
parts for best results. Larger pieces take
longer to cook.
• The cooking times in the table are
approximate and refer to deep-frying a
half-full basket. The exact times can vary,
depending on the amount, personal
