SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read the User Instructions carefully before use.
Save these instructions for future reference.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and people with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they
have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way
and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning
and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities
or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance
Never touch hot parts on the appliance, e.g. the decorative metal ring on the filter holder
–
risk of burn injuries.
The appliance is intended for household use, or for use in staff rooms, hotel rooms or other
similar places.
Never immerse the appliance, the power cord or plug in water or any other liquid.
The appliance must only be connected to a correctly earthed mains outlet. Check that the
mains voltage corresponds to the rated voltage on the type plate.
Never leave the appliance unattended when switched on.
Check the power cord regularly for damage. A damaged power cord must be replaced by
an authorised service centre, or qualified person, to ensure safe use.
Do not use the appliance if it is damaged or not working properly, or if the power cord or
plug are damaged. Take the appliance to an authorised service centre to be checked,
repaired or adjusted.
Never use the appliance outdoors or in damp areas.
Unplug the power cord before cleaning and/or maintenance, if it malfunctions, before filling,
and when the appliance is not in use.
Do not allow the power cord to come into contact with the hot surfaces. Do not expose the
appliance to high temperatures or direct sunlight.
Never move the appliance by pulling the power cord. Do not pull the power cord to unplug
the plug. Do not wind the power cord round the appliance. Do not fold or twist the power
cord.
Place the appliance on a level, stable surface.
IMPORTANT:
Never touch hot parts on the appliance. Only touch the plastic parts on the
appliance and lift the pot by the handle.
Steam from the coffee filter is very hot
– risk of burn injuries.
Never start the coffee maker without filling it with water. Only use fresh, cold water.
Never fill the container beyond the MAX mark. Do not start the appliance if the container is
filled beyond the MAX mark.
Never heat the coffee by placing the pot in an oven or microwave oven.
Remember that the coffee is very hot. Handle the pot with care
– risk of scalding.
Handle glass pots with care. Never use the appliance if there are cracks in the pot.
Never place an empty or almost empty glass pot on the hot plate when the coffee maker is
switched on, or on other hot surfaces.
Only use accessories recommended or supplied by the manufacturer. Other accessories
can damage the appliance and/or result in a risk of personal injury.
Switch off the appliance before unplugging the power cord.
Do not use the appliance at temperatures lower than 0°C
– risk of malfunctioning.
Descale the appliance regularly for best functionality.
Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning and putting it away.
