OPERATION
Use
• Before using for the first time, fill the kettle with water, boil up, and pour out the water. Repeat
once.
• Switch off the appliance and unplug the power cord before filling.
• Fill the kettle with water. Do not overfill - risk of spilling or splashing. Use the level markings. Fill
the kettle through the spout, or open the lid. Check that the lid is closed before switching on the
appliance, otherwise the appliance may not switch off properly.
• The minimum amount of water is 5 dl (to the MIN marking), otherwise there is a risk that it will
boil dry.
• The maximum amount of water is 1.7 litres (to the MAX marking).
• The appliance has an overheating protection which automatically switches it off if it is switched
on with too little water in the kettle. If the overheating protection trips, switch off the appliance,
unplug the power cord and allow the appliance to cool for 5–10 minutes. Fill the kettle with
water and switch on.
• Place the base on a dry, level surface. Put the kettle on the base. The kettle automatically
connects to the power supply when it is put on the base.
• Plug the power cord into an earthed mains outlet and switch on the appliance by moving the
power switch on the kettle to the ON position.
• When the water has boiled the appliance switches off automatically and the power switch moves
to the OFF position. Wait for at least 15–20 seconds after the appliance has switched off before
moving the power switch to the ON position again, otherwise this could damage the appliance.
• Always switch off the appliance before lifting the kettle from the base.
• Switch off the appliance with the power switch if you do not want to boil up the water again.
• You can switch off the appliance at any time by moving the power switch to the OFF position.
MAINTENANCE
Cleaning and care
• If necessary, wipe the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth. Stains can be removed with a
cloth moistened with water and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive detergents or objects.
NOTE!
Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
• Scale can become deposited on the heater element in time, depending on the hardness of the
water, which can reduce its functionality. Descale the appliance regularly for best functionality
and taste.
