A ny given speed above a range o f
approxim ately 10 — 25 mph
(16 — 40 km /h), depending on
model, can be m aintained w ith the
cruise control by operating the
sw itch.
1 = Setting (touch sw itch)
Accelerating (hold sw itch)
2 = Setting (touch sw itch)
Decelerating (hold sw itch)
Norm ally the vehicle is acceler
ated to the desired speed w ith
the accelerator. Speed is set
by briefly pushing the sw itch
to position "1 " or
"2 ",
and the
accelerator can be released.
The speed can be increased
(e. g. fo r passing) by using the
accelerator. As soon as the ac
celerator is released, the pre
viously set speed w ill be re
sumed autom atically.
If the set speed is to be in
creased or decreased slightly
(e. g. for adaption to the flo w
of tra ffic ), hold sw itch in po
sition "1" or "2" until the de
sired speed is reached. W hen
the sw itch is released, the
new ly set speed remains co n
stant.
= Cancelling
To cancel the cruise control,
briefly push lever to posi
tion "3".
The cruise control w ill also be
cancelled if the brake pedal is
actuated or if the vehicle speed
drops on steep grades by
more than 20 % below the set
speed.
4 = Resume
If the lever is briefly pushed to
position "4" w hen driving at
a speed exceeding approxi
m ately 10 — 25 mph
(16 — 40 km /h), depending on
model, th at speed is resumed
w hich was set prior to the
cancellation o f the cruise con
trol. The last m emorized speed
is cancelled when the key in
the steering lock is turned to
position “ 1" or "0 ".
Im portant:
Please do not use the cruise co n
trol if tra ffic conditions do not
make it advisable to m aintain a
steady speed, i. e. in heavy tra ffic
or on tw isting or slick and m uddy
roads.
Position "R esum e" should be en
gaged only if the driver is fu lly
aware o f the previously set speed
and wishes to resume this par
ticular preset speed.
W hen driving w ith the cruise con
trol, the selector lever m ust not be
shifted to position "N " as other
wise the engine w ill overrev.
