BEFORE FIRST USE

Read and follow all the instructions in this “Use and Care” manual, even if you feel you are familiar with the product, and fi nd a place 
to keep it handy for future reference. Your attention is drawn particularly to the sections concerning “IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS”, 
“FOR YOUR SAFETY” and “SERVICE”.

For your convenience, record the complete model number (located on the product identifi cation plate) and the date you received 
the product, together with your purchase receipt, and attach these to the warranty and service information. Retain in the event that 
warranty service is required.

NOTE

: The rating of this product (as marked on the product identifi cation plate) is based on specifi c loading tests. Normal use 

or the use of other recommended attachments may draw signifi cantly less power.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using any electrically powered product, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

WARNING

 - to reduce the risk of fi re, electrical shock or injury to persons or property:

Always operate the product from a power source of the same voltage, frequency and rating as indicated on the product 
identifi cation plate.

Close supervision is necessary when the product is used by or near children or invalids.

Do not allow children to use it as a toy.

Do not operate any product with a damaged cord or plug, or after the product malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any 
manner. Return the complete product to the place of purchase for inspection, repair or replacement.

To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not immerse or expose the product or fl exible cord to rain, moisture or any liquid other 
than those necessary for correct operation of the product.

• 

This product should not be used in the immediate vicinity of water, such as bathtub, washbowls, swimming pool etc, where 
there is a likelihood of immersion or splashing.

• 

Do not operate or place any part of this product on or near any hot surfaces (such as a gas or electric burner or hot plate or in 
a heated oven).

• 

Switch off and unplug it from outlet when not in use, before assembling or disassembling parts, and before cleaning. Remove it 
by grasping the plug; do not pull on the cord.

• 

 Avoid coming in contact with the hot surfaces.

• 

Do not use the appliance for other than its intended use.

• 

Do not leave the appliance unattended when switched on.

• 

The use of attachments or accessories that are not recommended or sold by the product distributor may cause personal or 
property hazards or injuries.

• 

This product is intended for normal domestic /household use only.

HOW TO USE YOUR HOT PLATE

Before using your Hot Plate for the fi rst time, turn the Hot Plate on the highest setting for 3 to 5 minutes to condition the protective 
coating. This should be the only time the Hot Plate is turned on without a cooking utensil on it.

For the most effi cient operation of your Hot Plate, the cooking utensils used should have a solid base and be as even as possible, 
and with a diameter of approx. 15 to 17 cm and a maximum capacity of 1L (800W hot plate). The cooking utensils with base diameter 
smaller than the diameter of the Hot Plate should not be used.

Cooking utensils, regardless of their size, should not project beyond the Hot Plate or intrude into the area within the close proximity of 
the controls.

Utensils with convex, concave or uneven bottoms should not be used.
