"Accumulator Pack" option
Principle
In "accumulator" mode, the multimeter automatically checks its supply
voltage.
If the supply voltage is too low or insufficient, the "BAt" sign is displayed on
the secondary left-hand screen: the remaining charge life is approx. 30 min.
To avoid measurements outside the specifications or shutdown of the
instrument, the instrument must be connected to the mains.
The accumulator only recharges in "STD BY" mode. During charging, the
"mains presence" indicator flashes once every 10 s. Charging has finished
when the "mains presence" indicator stops flashing.
Estimation of
accumulator
charge life
The high-power "Ni-MH" accumulator used provides a longer charge life
than a standard accumulator. It is designed to discharge automatically - at a
speed that varies according to the ambient temperature - if the multimeter
remains disconnected from the mains for a long time.
If this is the case, perform an "accumulator charge life estimation test" and
recharge it if necessary.
Test procedure
•
Disconnect the instrument from the mains.
•
Switch off the power using the ON/OFF switch
•
Select the "
Ω
" function, range 500
Ω
for approx. 20 min.
•
Switch off the power using the ON/OFF switch
•
Connect up to the mains in "STD BY" mode.
•
If the "mains presence" indicator starts flashing after 10 s, leave the
accumulator to charge for 5 to 10 hours.
•
If the "mains presence" indicator" does not flash, the accumulator has a
charge life of at least 7 hours.
G
Note If the multimeter remains connected to the mains, the accumulator has a
charge life of approximately 10 hours.
Maintenance
The accumulator unit can only be changed by qualified personnel. Please
contact your nearest distributor.
