17.6 Digital output
It is possible to connect an AV device to the TV using the audio outputs (see page 94)
located on the back of the TV.
Digital sound can be transmitted from the AV device using a optical audio cable connection
("Toslink" at stores specialising in accessories).
The "Digital Output" menu need only be configured if the TV uses the
AUDIO OUT DIGITAL port to the AV device, such as HiFi receiver,
wireless headphones, surround decoder, etc.
Digital output settings:
• Press
button to open the "Functional overview".
• Select "Menu" with the cursor and press the
button.
• Select "Sound" with the cursor and press the
button.
• Select "Digital output" with the cursor in the context menu and press the
button.
• Press the
button, use the cursor buttons to select the desired menu item (home
cinema, stereo, user-defined) and press the
button.
The following settings can be adjusted under the menu item "Format":
- Auto: The audio signal is output in the same format in which it is received.
In Auto mode, it is still possible to adjust the damping to compensate for the
quieter Dolby signals.
- PCM: The audio signal is output in PCM format, even if a different format is received.
• Press the
button to exit the menu.
