23.3 HDMI CEC function

ontrol (CEC), you can use the Metz remote control to operate
the basic functions of any connected AV devices. To enable CEC, the AV device must support
the HDMI CEC functions and be connected to the TV set over an HDMI cable. The general
purpose of the CEC function is to simplify cabling while providing integrated control.
CEC settings
• Press
button to open the "Functional overview".
• Select "Menu" with the cursor and press the
button.
• Select "AV devices" with the cursor and press the
button.
• Select "HDMI socket" with the cursor in the context menu and press the
button.
• Use the cursor to select "CEC-settings" and press the
button.
• Use the cursor to select "HDMI CEC" and press the
button.
• Use the cursor to select "on" and press the
button.
• Press the
button to exit the menu.
23.4 HDMI ARC function
Once the CEC function has been switched on, an audio return channel (= ARC) can be
activated or deactivated on the HDMI cable. If "HDMI ARC on" has been selected, the audio
return channel will be activated automatically when the TV set is switched on, if a CEC
and ARC-capable AV receiver / HiFi amplifier has been connected to the HDMI-socket
"IN1 (ARC)". This will then reproduce the sound of the TV set.
The "ARC Function" is only available for AV devices that are directly connected to the
TV set.
