Settings on the flashgun are made by selecting the desired function with the appropriate button
and then adjusting the displayed value with the two setting buttons (+/- buttons).
The parameters last set on the flashgun remain stored when the flashgun is switched off and even
when the batteries are replaced. For this purpose, the microprocessor automatically stores the
settings in program position 0, which is reserved for these data.
The following description is based on version 2 of the mecablitz 40 MZ-2 (with a serial number of 155
201 or higher). Some changes were implemented as of serial number 170 801, and these flashguns
are referred to as version 3. Due to their technical design, flashguns with a serial number lower than
155 201 (version 1 units) can be repaired only in the Fürth factory. Note that the above version
numbers refer only to the hardware; the software version is independent of this.
