DRUM BRAKES
The drum brake is activated by the attendant
through the brake levers on the extended han-
dles (fig. 4.1).
Benefits:
– braking action independent of tyre pro-
file.
– braking action independent of the tyre
pressure.
– secure handling for your helper through
brake levers on both handles.

Attention:
With the drum brakes version, the helper
must not lift the extended handles. – This
may lead to bending in the subsequently
extended handles to bend.
• The brake performance reduces with the
wear on the brake pads.
• Any decrease in braking performance
must be repaired immediately by your
specialist workshop.
Function as operating brakes
Pull both brake levers evenly and only lightly
in order to achieve a controlled deceleration
of the wheelchair.
